Our Story
XAW is WAX, reversed.
The name is a small act of perspective — a reminder that looking at something the other way round can change what you see. That idea sits behind everything we make.
The Bird Lady
Our mark is drawn from a ceramic figurine of the Naqada civilisation, known as The Bird Lady — arms raised, grace and spiritual presence held in clay thousands of years ago, here in Egypt. Hidden inside the mark is a flower, for the life our vessels are meant to hold after the wax is gone.
What we make
Hand-poured candles in small batches, from 100% natural soy wax and pure essential oils. Never paraffin. Never synthetic fragrance. Our vessels are handmade glass, pottery and salt crystal, packed in recycled craft cardboard.
Why essential oils
Most candles on the market are scented with synthetic fragrance oils. They are cheaper, stronger, and easier to work with. We use pure essential oils instead — distilled from plants — because what fills a room is also what fills your lungs. The scent is softer and more honest, and it behaves the way a real garden or a real spice market behaves: it changes as it burns.
Made to be kept
Every vessel we pour into is designed for a second life — a planter, a brush pot, a small dish, or a refill. When the candle is finished, the object is not.
Elegant Perspective. Elevating spaces, inspiring minds.
